I have a personal history as artist, business person and a professional arts administrator. I received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have resided in Richmond, VA, Chicago, IL, Seattle, WA, and currently in Salem, OR. I create fine art prints and photography.

I currently work as a Deputy Clerk for Marion County, recording Real Estate transactions, accepting Passport applications and issuing Marriage Licenses. I moved to Oregon in 2007 to become Executive Director of Oregon Alliance for Arts Education. I have since served as Events Manager, Salem Art Association. I served as a Media Assistant with State of Oregon Legislative Services during the 2013 Legislative session, where I performed live camera operations and digital archiving of past legislative sessions.

At Oregon Alliance for Arts Education, which is affiliated, with Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, I planned and directed Oregon Teacher Arts Institute and revitalized OAAE’s Creative Ticket Awards.

I founded Sedrat Arts in late 2004. Sedrat Arts which was dedicated to finding creative solutions to arts funding issues and assisting artists and arts organizations in development and project completion. Sedrat Arts was a sponsor and presenter of West Edge Sculpture Invitational from 2004 – 2008.

I was previously Executive Director of Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle. www.cocaseattle.org. During my tenure, Center on Contemporary Art produced such landmark exhibitions as blurred, Crossroads, Little Things Count, People Doing Strange Things With Electricity, Neoqueer, and Domicile.

Previous to the Center on Contemporary Art, I was Collection Manager at Chihuly Studio, Inc.

I owned and operated Art Shuttle, Inc. based in Chicago for over 10 years.  My professional art career has included service to many commercial and nonprofit galleries, private collections, and the Illinois Arts Council as Assistant Curator.

As an undergraduate, I went to one of the finest Art Schools in the US at Virginia Commonwealth University, completing a BFA in the Sculpture Department, receiving a BFA in 1981.  I subsequently attended School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I served as a Department Assistant in the Art and Technology Department.  I received an MFA in 1983.

As an artist, I have worked in many different media over the years including sculpture, ceramics, painting, and photography.  Since my time in Seattle, I have mostly worked with painting and printing making, using photography and computer graphics as tools, inspiration, and source.
